A high standard of behaviour is expected at all times. Children are expected to respect others and to respect property. The school actively promotes a safe and secure environment for every child and makes it quite clear that bad behaviour is not tolerated. We employ an awards system throughout the school that rewards good behaviour, effort and achievement.

Children who misbehave will, in the first instance, be talked to by the teacher involved and any sanction imposed will be explained. This may be missing playtimes or other pleasurable activities for a short while.

A record is kept in school of the more serious behaviour problems. A letter will be sent to parents if a serious situation develops with any child.

If bullying occurs, either suspected by parents or by teachers, all parties will be involved in resolving the matter. We have a robust anti-bullying policy which is consistently applied.

Children who continually misbehave at lunchtimes will be warned and, if the problem persists, may have to have alternative lunchtime arrangements made for them by their parents. However, this is extremely rare.

Parents are asked not to approach children, other than their own, (or other parents), about disciplinary matters. Any difficulties arising should be discussed with the CLASS TEACHER initially. If matters are not resolved at this stage the HEAD TEACHER will act swiftly to investigate and resolve matters.

The School Behaviour Policy sets out our approach in more detail.
